MONTE MAR LOCATION AND OVERVIEW

Monte Mar is in northwestern Costa Rica, on a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The project has two entrance gates that are only 25 minutes (25 km) from the Liberia International Airport. The northern gate is accessed from Playas del Coco and the southern gate is accessed from Nuevo Colon.

The project combines two properties totaling over 200 hectares (500 acres). The Northern Property is on the Coco side of the mountain with views of Coco Bay and the Papagayo Peninsula. The Southern Property is on the Nuevo Colon side and has sweeping views of forested hills and ravines.

Low Density Design

The Northern Mountain Side has a total of 42 Ocean View lots and 46 Valley View lots for the initial sales phase. This low-density design will preserve the natural beauty of the mountain, maintain the views, and provide privacy without seclusion for the home sites.

The Southern Mountain Side will feature a combination of private lots and more communal neighborhoods.

Playas del Coco

Local Community – Playas del Coco is one of the oldest beach communities in Guanacaste Province.  It’s a rapidly growing hub for business and tourism.  The beach is at the end of the main street, and several of Costa Rica’s beautiful beaches are a short distance away.

Casual Dining – The town has restaurants of all types, many of which serve fish fresh off the boat. Coco and the nearby communities of Hermosa and Panama provide many great dining options, coffee shops, and sports bars.

Consumer Services

Basic Services – There are three large grocery stores, a large hardware and building supply center, three banks, auto repair services, and multiple construction companies. There are plenty of realtors, attorneys, and accountants that have offices in the Coco area.

Healthcare Services – Healthcare is readily available with two clinics, a few pharmacies, and hospitals in Liberia (35 minutes away).

Tourist Services – Coco is a fishing and scuba diving center, and many tours of the volcanoes, rain forests, beaches, and waterfalls originate here. Boats for charter are readily available for fishing excursions, whale watching, and water taxis to secluded beaches.

Adventures Nearby…

Adventure Travel – The Monteverde Cloud Forest, Lake Arenal, and Rio Celeste are three of the best eco-tourist attractions in Costa Rica. The hiking trails, hot water springs, rafting, and adventure activities keep people coming back to continue exploring these areas.

Local Beaches – There’s also a considerable amount of growth occurring in the Las Catalinas and Playa Flamingo areas due to a new marina under construction. There are a number of beautiful beaches surrounding those towns, which are both a 25-minute (14 km) drive from the property.
